T5,T8 & T12 LED Tubes
LED tubes are extremely popular energy efficient lamps used in Commercial, Industrial and public facilities for a variety of good reasons. Firstly, compared with their expensive-to-run fluorescent counterparts, LED tubes provide solid medium to long-term term savings on both energy and maintenance costs. But there are different types of lamps (T5, T8 & T12) that you need to be aware of. The "T" in lamp nomenclature represents the shape of the lamp-tubular. The T in front is used to specify the shape of the bulb and lets you know that the LED light bulb is a Tube. Following the T, the numbering specifies the diameter of the lamp measured in fractions of an inch. The number following the "T" usually represents the diameter of the lamp in eighths of an inch (1 inch equals 2.5 centimeters).
